Forging Tomorrow's Leaders
Montevista Study Center challenges young men to grow as virtuous leaders and transform society through their prayer, work, friendships, and family life.
Montevista Study Center is a supplemental education center dedicated to the academic and character formation of young men. Through academic programs, service projects, and outings, we help young men to seek excellence in their studies and to be men of service. The Christian orientation of Montevista’s programs is entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church.
Montevista’s goal is to help young men develop a wide range of intellectual and moral virtues. Through classes, activities, and mentoring at Montevista, students come to know themselves better and learn how to put these virtues into practice. Thus, they are prepared for the great challenges awaiting them: forming a family, serving society through their work, and developing friendships with colleagues, neighbors, and God.
Work well done is both a benefit to the one working and a service to others. In order to impart this vision of work to young men, many of our programs allow them to meet and hear from experienced professional men who are willing to pass on advice and insight gained in the course of their life’s work.
Serious, in-depth study helps young men acquire wisdom, develops their work habits, teaches them how to communicate, and prepares them for a future career. We encourage young men in their studies through advice on reading, academic and character classes, and personal mentoring.
An essential aspect of growing into maturity is learning to forget about oneself and to think about others. The Center offers a variety of projects and opportunities where young men can learn how to serve and sacrifice themselves in small ways for others.
An integral aspect of the spirit imparted by Montevista comes through contact with the Center’s experienced and dedicated staff, providing young men with the example and moral support they need. Through one-on-one mentoring, the students learn how to find concrete applications of the principles taught in classes.
Frontier helps young boys to develop virtues (fortitude, temperance, etc.) through talks and fun activities. Talks for the fathers show them the importance of developing virtues and strong characters in their sons and give them practical advice on how to do this.
Club Crucible forms 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys in an atmosphere of freedom, friendship, and fun. Club Crucible helps young boys develop into the leaders and professionals our society needs, all in an atmosphere of freedom, friendship and fun.
High School is a key time to begin to see the big picture, firm up your college decision, and develop a better understanding of Truth.
